Do you have long-standing patterns and/or suffer from insecurity, anxiety, gloominess, violently fluctuating moods, agitation or trauma, complaints that bother you a lot, or has the bucket just completely overflowed in a short period of time.

We work with a thorough intake procedure and treatment plan tailored to the person and situation.

We are also multidisciplinary, meaning that an activity is approached from multiple areas of expertise,

Together with you, we look for the most appropriate approach for your specific situation and needs.

At CITB, we believe that recovery extends beyond the treatment room.

That is why we actively inform patients about the broad recovery network in Amsterdam: from peer support and expertise by experience to listening groups and accessible support in the neighborhood.

How we work

Everyone is different. That is why at CITB we work with an integrative approach β€” we combine evidence-based treatment methods and tailor them to what you need.

Individual treatment

Several forms of Psychotherapy Focuses on unconscious processes and how they influence behaviour and emotions. Helps to gain insight into patterns from the past and in relationships.

Schema Therapy Focuses on patterns that developed early in life. Helps to recognise and change these patterns for a better quality of life.

EMDR Effective therapy for trauma. Helps to process traumatic memories through bilateral stimulation.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviour. With attention to lifestyle and daily structure.

Systemic Therapy Looks at interactions within a system β€” such as family or relationships β€” and how these contribute to difficulties.

Drama Therapy Uses creative techniques to explore and process emotions in a safe environment.

Pharmacotherapy Treatment with medication, often in combination with other therapies.

Group Treatments

Schema Therapy combined with Drama Therapy
In a group setting, participants learn from each other while exploring patterns and behaviour. Available in Dutch and English.

Group Psychotherapy
Together, participants explore feelings, behaviour and recurring patterns. The group offers a safe space for insight and practice in connection with others.

Art Therapy
Through creative methods such as drawing, painting and sculpting, feelings and experiences are explored in a non-verbal way. Art therapy creates space for what is difficult to put into words. Available in English.

Emotion Regulation β€” Difficult Emotions
A group programme focused on learning to recognise, understand and manage intense emotions. Participants practise practical skills to better cope with difficult feelings in daily life. Available in English.

Accessibility

The CITB is an outpatient facility; we can be visited by appointment. We are available during office hours.

For acute, emergency help outside office hours, you can always contact your local GP out-of-hours clinic. There they can assess whether you should be referred to the 24-hour crisis service of the ggz.

Waiting time

We aim to screen an application within 1 working week. Based on this screening, we determine whether you can be placed on our waiting list.

We currently have a waiting time of 2 to 4 weeks for the intake. This depends on the demand for care, care intensity and the availability of our therapists. The intake procedure consists of 2-4 interviews.

There is no distinction between the waiting time of registration and citb treatment, as treatment starts after the intake procedure.
