For who

Sometimes you can’t get out on your own and need to seek help. This can have all kinds of causes. Everyone has their own story.

Examples of complaints, which can come up:

  • Anxiety complaints
  • Depressive symptoms
  • Personality problems
  • Mood swings
  • Mild addiction problems
  • Trauma, unprocessed life experiences
  • Complex trauma, when you have had multiple traumatic experiences.
  • Somatic complaints (in consultation with your GP or treating medical
  • specialist)
  • Compulsive thoughts and actions
  • ADHD
  • Difficulty getting in touch with own feelings
  • Insufficient control over own emotions
  • Problems in contact with others

We are an outpatient centre, which means we are available on weekdays during office hours. Our team consists of professionals with extensive knowledge and experience within psychiatry and sggz. During the registration phase, we carefully consider whether our team can offer the treatment that best suits your problems and current situation. We will discuss this together with you.

Exclusion criteria:

If the problems listed below are present, you are best off obtaining suitable treatment at another healthcare institution. CITB does not have a crisis service or 24-hour availability of its care providers.

  • If you need day treatment.
  • If you are crisis-prone
  • When you are severely suicidal.
  • You suffer from a severe personality disorder, which hinders daily functioning to such an extent that the outpatient supervision offered by CITB is not sufficient to help you adequately.
  • If you suffer from serious problems with impulse control, for example outwardly expressing aggression that endangers others, or if you have obtained a measure from the legal system.
  • Changes in your situation during treatment

It may happen that your situation or problems change so much during treatment that it is best for you to be referred for suitable treatment at another institution. We work in a multi-disciplinary team and will discuss this situation with each other and with you when this circumstance arises. We are willing when it is a temporary situational issue, to meet with, for example, the crisis service and consult with your referrer so that an appropriate solution can be found. The key point here is, that you then obtain appropriate treatment, either at CITB or at another institution.

For example, the following points may play a role in the decision to terminate treatment at CITB:

  • Physical and verbal aggression
  • Insecurity for fellow patients and/or staff
  • Serious addiction problems
  • Serious suicidality
  • Threats of aggression or threats of destruction

Accessibility

The CITB is an outpatient facility; you can visit us by appointment. We can be reached during office hours.

For acute, emergency help outside office hours, you can always visit the GP out-of-hours clinic in your area. There they can assess whether you should be referred to the 24-hour crisis service of the GGZ.

Waiting time

We aim to screen an application within 1 working week. Based on this screening, we determine whether you can be placed on our waiting list.

Currently, we have a waiting time of 4 to 8 weeks for intake. This depends on the demand for care, care intensity and the availability of our therapists. The intake procedure consists of 2-4 interviews.

There is no distinction between the waiting time of registration and citb treatment, as treatment starts after the intake procedure.
